ll three eligible shows for Capital T Theatre were nominated for a total of 11 B Iden Payne awards when they were announced last Tuesday.  After members of the Greater Creative Alliance vote on their favorites, the awards will be handed out Monday November 1st at the Long Center. Killer Joe finished off the awards season by nabbing two awards from the 2010 Austin Critics’ Table Awards held last night at Cap City Comedy Club. Capital T took home one of the top honors as Killer Joe was named BEST COMEDY at the awards ceremony. Other nominees in the category were Black Snow, Tutto Theatre Company bobrauschenbergamerica, Mary Moody Northen Theatre, Body Awareness, Hyde Park Theatre, House of Several Stories, Imagine That Productions, and The Taming of the Shrew, The Hidden Room Theatre.

Killer Joe nabbed two nominations from the Austin Critics Table Awards on Thursday, rounding out the entire awards season. Cap T’s production of Tracy Letts’ comic thriller earned a nomination for Best Production of a Comedy, while its director, Mark Pickell, was nominated for Best Direction. Joey Hood, who played Chris in KILLER JOE, was nominated for Best Lead Actor for his solo performance in Hyde Park Theatre’s THE ATHEIST.
