Cap T Actors Honored With 3 B Iden Payne Awards

6 November 2013

Capital T Theatre was honored with 3 B Iden Payne Awards for our work on THE PAIN AND THE ITCH and GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES.

Liz Fisher won top acting honors by taking home the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy award for playing the role of Kelly, the firm and controlling helicopter-parent in THE PAIN AND THE ITCH.  This is her win at the B Iden Paynes.  She has been recognized with nominations for her other  work with Capital T by the BIP awards for both her work on HUNTER GATHERERS (Cast Performance) and DYING CITY (Lead Actress).   This is the 3rd time Cap T has captured the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy with Molly Karasch winning last year for EXIT PURSUED BY A BEAR and Kathy Catmull winning with HAPPY DAYS.

One of her PAIN AND ITCH cast mates Ben Wolfe won Outstanding Featured Actor in a Comedy for his portrayal of the  humble and quiet Mr. Hadid.  While this is his first win for Cap T Ben has amassed 5 total B Iden Paynes for his previous work on ROMEO AND JULIET, THE DOG IN THE MANGER, THE RETREATING WORLD, and FEATURING LORETTA.

Finally Jason Newman took home top honors by claiming the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama award.  He won for his work on GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES.  Directed by Kelsey Kling Jason portrayed  Doug the conflicted and alienated love interest to Kayleen played by Laura Artesi.
