Capital T is proud to announce the cast for their upcoming world premiere of I ? Walmart.   The cast include B Iden Payne and Austin Critics Table Winners and Nominees Kelli Bland,Travis Dean, Mark Pickell, Mark Scheibmeir, Mason Stewart & Ben Wolfe as well as Mateo Barrera, Molly Fonseca, Adam Hilton, Carrie Klypchak, Joey LePage, & Miriam Shoemaker

Mateo Barrera

is a native of South Texas, and a graduate from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a degree in Acting and Directing.  Some of his favorite past performances include Ralph Wantage Frozen, Leonardo Blood Wedding, Student 3 Shakespeare’s R&J and Starcat Psycho Beach Party. Since moving to Austin, he has been working exculsively with Teatro Vivo(Two Souls and a Promise/Crossing the Rio) but is extremely excited to work on his first collaberation with Capital T Theatre .  Mateo would like to thank Mark and Carrie for the opportunity to work on this wonderful new play, and to all that has supported him throughout the years.  Mateo’s performance is dedicated to the passing of his two Grandmother’s on July 27th 2009

Kelli Bland

is a local Austin actress whose credits include THE RED BALLOON, A THOUGHT IN THREE PARTS (B Iden Payne Nomination), and A GENUINE PLEA TO MY INSIDES, her one-woman show which received a Best of Week nod at Fronterafest 2008.  In January, Kelli directed the US premiere of THE BIRD and THE BEE (Austin Critics Table Nomination Outstading Production of a Drama) , for Capital T as part of their New Directions program for Fronterafest 2009. She studied physical theatre at the Rose Bruford College in England and puppetry and actor movement at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. She holds a BA in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University with an emphasis in directing.

Laura Cheek

is a senior in the Texas Creative program at The University of Texas. She is also an intern at Zachary Scott Theatre and the Audience Developer for Capital T. Laura studied musical theatre and dance at Ballet Austin and studies voice and music under Adam Roberts. Laura got her start at age 12 as Munchkin #26 in THE WIZARD OF OZ and never looked back. Some favorite roles include Rizzo in GREASE, Mrs. Gibbs in OUR TOWN, Katherina in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, Egle in LA DISPUTE (Capital T), and Elaine in THE LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS.

Travis Dean

This is his second collaboration with Capital T .  He last thrilled audiences by serving as fight choreographer for the violent and gritty KILLER JOE.  He last appeared onstage with Refraction Arts UP IN THE OLD HOUSE (B Iden Payne Award Best Featured Actor).  Other Credits include THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (B Iden Payne Nomination – Lead Actor), THE POSSIBILITIES (B Iden Payne Nomination – Featured Actor), OLEANNA, BINGO, JINN MILL, and as the titular character in MACBETH among others.

Molly Fonseca

is an Omaha,NE native who comes to Austin after completing her MFA in Acting at the University of Arkansas. She feels extremely fortunate to be working with Capital T on this new work. While new to the Austin theatre community, Molly has been performing most of her life. Her favorite past roles include: “Callie” in STOP KISS, “Jill” in JACK AND JILL, “Roberta” in DANNY AND THE DEP BLUE SEA, and “Gwendolyn” in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. This marks her stage debut in Austin and her first collaboration with Capital T.

Carrie Klypchak

is a core member and the Literary Manager of Capital T Theatre. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Theatre at Texas A&M University  Commerce. Carrie is an active teaching artist, performance scholar, dramaturg, director, and actor. She received her professional acting training in New York City, where she trained under renowned teachers such as Randolph Pearson, Larry Arancio, and the late Allyn Winslow. Some of her favorite professional acting credits include Ellie in Capital T’s production of KAWAISOO, Lil Bit in HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, Annmarie in CHOCOLATE CAKE, Sarah in A DIFFERENT MOON, and the Narrator of the Manhattan radio show, LEFTY THE ROACH. Carrie holds a Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University and MA and BFA degrees from Southwest Texas State University. Her book, SALIENT NEGOTIATIONS: DEVISING AND SURVIVING AS ALTERNATIVE THEATRE ARTISTS IN THE 21ST CENTURY, was published by VDM Publishing House in March of 2009.

JoeyLePage

is happy to rejoin Cap T after he last worked on I GOOGLE MYSELF.  This spring, he played “Ali” in the premiere of Francis Cowhig’s award winning play LIDLESS. Among others, his recent roles include “Victor” in OUR LADY OF 121st STREET at UT, and “Jason” in Salvage Vanguard’s world premiere of HAMILTON TOWNSHIP. Joey can be seen this fall in UT’s production of THERE’S A BOY IN THE GIRL’S BATHROOM. Joey owes thanks to the Leon Katz Rhodophi International Theater Laboratory, UT, his friends, family, and most importantly the late John Henry LePage.  He is in his in his 4th year at the University of Texas, majoring in Theatre and Mathematics.

Mark Pickell

is the founder and artistic director of Capital T Theatre Company. Mark has acted and directed in Houston and Austin. His directing credits include MACHINAL, RHINOCEROS, THE NERD, THE GOOD PERSON OF SETZUAN, THEATRE IN THE RED, ROMEO AND JULIET, IN THE WEST, MARAT/SADE, A BRIEF HISTORY OF HELEN OF TROY, LA DISPUTE (Austin Critics Table Nomination Best Comedy), MR. MARMALADE, BLACKBIRD and HAPPY DAYS (B Iden Payne Nomination Best Director, Best Comedy). He last appeared onstage in Hyde Park Theatre’s crtically acclaimed THE PILLOWMAN (Michal). Oter acting credits include THE TRUST (James Baker), MY THREE ANGELS (Paul), IN THE WEST (Big Tex), BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (Telelphone Man), OKLAHOMA (Jud) and LA BETE (Valere – Austin Critics Table Award).  He is a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where he earned a BFA with honors in Theatre. While at Southwestern, Mark interned with the Royal Shakespeare Company in London where he worked on THE MYSTERIES and THE BECKETT SHORTS.

Mark Scheibmeir

This marks Mark’s first collaboration with Capital T.  Some of his favorite roles include Virgil in  ARTOIS THE GOAT (film), Ray X in BAD PENNY and Cheswick in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST.  He was recently seen in Austin Shakespeare’s production of AN IDEAL HUSBAND and as Eros in the Cohen New Work’s Festivals Production of THE PSYCHE PROJECT. Please come see Mark this fall in UT’s production of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE portraying Mr. Darcy.  Mark is represented in Austin by Liz Atherton at Tag Talent. He W.H. “Deacon” Crain Award for Outstanding Student Work in 2009 at the Austin Critics Table Awards.  He received his B.S. in Radio-Television-Film at The University of Texas at Austin.  He returned to UT as a member of the MFA in Acting Program where he is in his final year.

Miriam Shoemaker

This marks Miriam’s stage debut in Austin and her first collaboration with Capital T.  She last worked with UT’s University Theatre Guild.  Miriam was last seen in the role of “Suzanna” in PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE. Some of her favorite past roles include “Star” in JOHN LENNON AND ME and “Babe” in CRIMES OF THE HEART.  She will be beginning her Junior year at the University of Texas in the Fall.

Mason Stewart

has been actor working in Austin for a little over a year. I ♥ WALMART is his first productionwith Capital T. Mason has also been seen in recent theatrical productions such as THE LONG NOW as “Larry” with Shrewd Productions, PITCH BLACK BEAST / DREAM.ONE  with The Search Party, THIRD as “Third” with the Paradox Players, THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE as “Ray Dooley” with Vortex Repertory and Renaissance Austin Theatres (B. Iden Payne Outstanding Cast), VALPARAISO as “Teddy Hodell” with The Search Party, and in EVERYMAN AND THE TIBETAN BOOK OF THE DEAD as “God,” etc. with Gobotrick Theatre Company.  While earning his BFA from Southwest Texas State he was as involved in the world premiere of Romulus Lenny’s  adaptation of Tim O’Brien’s GOING AFTER CACCIATO as “Paul Berlin,” as well as “Walker/Ned” in THREE DAYS OF RAIN, “Vertumnus,” etc. in METAMORPHOSIS, “Father Welsh” in THE LONESOME WEST, “Jamal/Creon” in the world premiere of THE MEDEAS, and as Michael in SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME.

Ben Wolfe

has been working in Austin’s professional theatre scene for the last ten years.  This production marks his first collaboration with Capital T and second with director Mark Pickell. Ben is a member of both Austin Playhouse’s (AP) and Hyde Park Theatre’s (HPT) Acting Companies.  Austin credits, performing for AP, HPT, and Austin Shakespeare, among others, include: A FLEA IN HER EAR (Don Carlos Homenides de Histangua), THE DROWNED WORLD (Darren), IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: A LIVE RADIO PLAY (Clarence, et al.), MACBETH (Macduff), SPEED-THE-PLOW (Charlie Fox), THE DOG IN THE MANGER  (Tristan, B. Iden Payne and Critics Table Awards winner), ROMEO & JULIET  twice (Benvolio, B. Iden Payne Award winner, and Friar Laurence), 2 INTO WAR: THE RETREATING WORLD (Ali, B. Iden Payne Award winner), FEATURING LORETTA (Michael, B.
