New Directions

To develop new directors of vision in the Austin area we have developed our New Directions program. The goal is to fully produce a show and let a young director (under 35) with no professional credits direct the show. While getting your foot in the door in acting, crew, or design is difficult, getting started in directing is even more difficult.

The director will be chosen from an application process includes submission of  theatrical resume and a letter of interest, interview, and supporting visual materials.   The Artistic Director, Company Member, and former New Directions Directors will review the applicants.

The director will choose a show, cast the show, collaborate with designers, and rehearse the show for production as part of FronteraFest’s Long Fringe schedule. Capital T will compensate the director for their skills and time as well as the actros, crew and designers. We feel this program will allow young central Texans with an opportunity to develop and grow as artists while enhancing Austin arts scene with fresh new voices. As our mission states we want to stay committed to developing these voices in Austin.

Playwrights

Developing new voices in theatre is central to the mission of Capital T. Feel free to submit your play as a word document or a pdf. Unfortunately we cannot give a verbal or written critique of the play. Please forward the play as a word document or pdf and a brief bio of the playwright to newvoicescapitalt.org.

Designers and Technicians

We are always on the lookout for exciting new designers and technicians to work with. Please contact infocapitalt.org with a resume and a general note about yourself.

Internships

We are currently putting together an internship program for college level students to recieve credit for their participation in the production process. If you think you might be interested in this program drop an email to interncapitalt.org. Check back for more information in the future.
